We hope you find a clear breakdown that leaves you exited for what is to come.

The Imperfects: Coming in 2022

Starting off the list is The Imperfects. This is a show coming to Netflix sometime in 2022. The show is about three 20 year-olds that where experimented on and turned into monsters. Now, they are looking for the person responsible for what has happened to them in the hopes that they can reverse it. Unfortunately, the government is after them too, so they must run from the government while chasing the people responsible for their situation. The show follows their ordeal as they also work on figuring out how to deal with their new found powers. We thought the show looked great. The story feels familiar yet compelling. We can’t wait to see more of The Imperfects and it will definitely be added to our watch list.

Sweet Tooth: Season 2 Coming Soon

Sweet Tooth just announced that they are finished filming. This clip is a little behind the scenes on the set of Sweet Tooth season 2 with the cast talking about how fun it was to work on the project. They are so excited and can’t wait for the final version to come out on Netflix. They don’t have a date for us yet but with filming is over so it shouldn’t be much longer. The show deals in a post-apocalyptic world where a sickness called “The Sick” has wiped most of the population and created a new hybrid species of babies. The story follows Gus a deer-human hybrid as he battles to stay alive and help his friend survive the persecution of humans towards their species. If you haven’t watched Sweet Tooth season 1 on Netflix, make sure to go check it out because it was a great watch and we can’t wait for season 2.

Locke and Key: Season 3 Coming August 10th, 2022

Here we have a teaser trailer for the final season of Locke and Key. All episodes will be dropping on August 10th, so make sure to catch up to the latest episode before then. The show is a fantasy drama series based on a comic book by the same name . After Rendell Locke is murdered at the hands of former student Sam Lesser, his wife Nina decides to move with her three children, Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode, from Seattle to the town of Matheson. They take residence in Rendell’s family home, Keyhouse. The children soon discover a number of mysterious keys throughout the house that can be used to unlock various doors in magical ways. They also quickly become aware of a demonic entity that is also searching for the keys for its own malevolent purposes. It looks like some crazy things are happening in season 3 so if it sound good now is a great time to start the series.

Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2 Coming This Fall

A live action series based on the old animated series the Winx Club is coming back. Fate season 2 will be coming later this fall with a character that many fans asked for…Flora. We thought the first season was alright, for adults that grew up with the animated series, this felt less magical. We are however willing to see if this season improves on the story and adds more magic less horror to the series. This teaser trailer doesn’t really show much so realistically all we got from the event is the announcement that the show will be coming in fall.

Warrior Nun: Season 2 Coming Winter 2022

A little sneak peak into Warrior Nun season 2 was released. The teaser explains a little of what happened in season 1 and what is coming in season 2. The show is a fantasy drama created by Simon Barry and based on the comic book character Warrior Nun Areala by Ben Dunn. We felt the first season had its merits and its obstacles. The fight scenes are well done and the actors have great chemistry overall. Moreover, despite some flat dialogue, a predictable plot, and not the most inventive story, the show is a fun watch. If you are willing to put up with a slower buildup of the story, the show will give you an action packed last few episodes. We hope season two is more fast paced now that the characters have been introduced and are looking forward to what the creators have in store.

One Piece Live Action: First Look

We got a first look at the set design that is being done for the live action series of One Piece. They are going all out on these set pieces and they look truly incredible. This series doesn’t look like it will be ready anytime soon but it is nice to see what is being worked on. Lets see how Netflix will convert an anime into a live action. We are a little hesitant considering most live actions based on anime have not been great. Nevertheless, we are hopeful the writers and director will put as much effort on the story and adaptation as on the sets. Fingers crossed for this one.

Resident Evil: July 14th

Resident Evil seems to be very hard at work with a lot of different projects. They have a few games coming out and now a Netflix series as well. The Umbrella Corporation is going to change the world as they know it but will it be for the better? What is the true goal of the Umbrella Corporation, and will we figure it out on this series. Basically, fourteen years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by infected creatures while being haunted by her past. The trailer looks intriguing and if you are into the whole post apocalyptic, zombie type genre this might be a great addition to your watch list.

1899: Coming Soon

From the creators of Dark, they are bringing a new series to life called 1899. This looks like a very interesting new series and we can’t wait to get some more information on it. It takes place on the Kerberos ship traveling from Europe to New York. This epic period mystery-horror television series created by Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar is set to premiere on Netflix in Autumn/Winter 2022. We are looking forward to seeing more.

1899: Behind the Scenes

We thought to add this because it is really cool to see how they make shows and movies work. It is a look into a cool new piece of technology and worth a look. The volume technology is like a huge screen. It has multiple little screens that makes up this giant screen. In this way it can be curved all the way around effortlessly. It looks breathtaking and so interesting to see how it impacts the actors and everyone around the scene. The actors no longer need to just try to imagine where everything will be in the background. They can actually see it real time and understand everything easier. This way they can focus more on their acting and less on trying to image what the environment will look like. Make sure to check out this behind the scenes if you are into what the future of film will look like.

The Sandman: Coming August 5th, 2022

This looks amazing and we cant wait for it to come out. The show is based on the award-winning DC comic series written by Neil Gaiman. The sandman or as he is called in this world Dream has been captured for over a century, once this happens it sets a series of events that affects everything in the dream world and real world. Now that he is free, he must go out and restore order by visiting different worlds and timelines. This sounds like an amazing story and looks visually great. The series is developed and produced by Neil Gaiman, so you know there will be no confusion on what the story should be. We are very excited about this one, and can’t wait to hear your thoughts.

The Sea Beast: Coming July 8th, 2022

A new animated movie coming to Netflix from the director of Moana and Big Hero Six Chris Williams was announced. The Sea Beast looks as visually striking as it’s predecessors. It feels just like a Disney movie and for good reason. The story, atmosphere, characters and even humour just hit that sweet spot. It is set to come to Netflix July 8th and we for one, can’t wait.

Spiderhead: Coming June 17th, 2022

Another movie coming to Netflix staring Chris Hemsworth is Spiderhead. Based on the short story, “Escape From Spiderhead” by George Saunders, this is a film for the adventure fanatic. It is about a visionary who performs experiments on inmates in a state-of-the-art penitentiary with mind-altering drugs. The story follows the connection of two of the inmates played by Miles Teller and Jurnee Smollett. We aren’t sure about this one, but, won’t need to wait long to make up our minds. The film is coming out June 17th, 2022 so let’s wait and see.

The Grey Man: Coming July 22nd, 2022

Another film with a great cast is The Grey Man staring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans. Ryan also known as Sierra Six is a highly skilled CIA’s operative who accidentally uncovers a dark agency secret. This causes a psychopathic former colleague to put a bounty on his head, setting off a global manhunt by international assassins. Together with his cohort, AKA, Chris Evans, they must find a way to survive. We are exited to catch this movie on July 22nd.

The School for Good & Evil: Coming This September 2022

The next movie shown is coming out in September. The School for Good & Evil is based on the international best selling book series by the same name. It will be following Sophie and Agatha, who are best friends but find themselves on opposite sides. They are swept away to a enchanted school where young heroes and villains are trained to protect the balance of good and evil. Will the film be able to meet the expectations of everyone who has read the books? We aren’t sure, but will be tuning in nonetheless.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Coming September 2022

We got the official teaser trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. RD Project Red created a game based on the Cyberpunk 2077 roleplaying game and now they have teamed up with Studio Tigger to create this beautiful 10-episode stand alone series coming out September 2022. The series will follow a street kid trying to survive in the crazy streets of Night City. He stays alive by becoming an edgerunner and working as a mercenary outlaw. If the show does well, the creators could keep making more spinoffs following protagonist that live in different parts of the City or in different regions. The show looks visually striking and seems to have a pretty unique story.

Hustle: Released June 3rd, 2022

This was a interesting behind the scenes of the movie Hustle. It talks about everything that went into the movie and what their vision was. They got a really big cast including legendary and current NBA players. This American sport drama is directed by Jeremiah Zagar, from a screenplay by Taylor Materne and Will Fetters. The film stars Adam Sandler as an NBA scout who discovers a raw, incredibly talented player in Spain and must prepare him for the NBA Draft.

Dragon Age: Absolution Coming December 2022

This is a brand new Netflix show based on the Dragon Age universe. The series will be six episodes long. Created in collaboration with BioWare, Dragon Age: Absolution is set in Tevinter and features an ensemble of new characters inspired by Dragon Age lore, including elves, mages, knights, Qunari, Red Templars, demons and other special surprises. The show reminded us of the Castlevania art style. We think this is going to be a good one to look out for in December.

The Queen’s Gambit Chess Game: Coming Soon to Netflix Games

You did read it right, Netflix is coming out with a free game. You will be able to play chess against all the characters in the show including everyone’s favourite, Beth. There will also be different places must fans will recognize like Las Vegas, Russia, and Paris. The game is expected to include puzzles and all sorts of fun interactive things to do. Our favourite part? It looks visually amazing. The 3D look makes it feel more engaging and is sure to be an improvement from older looking chess games.

Castlevania: Nocturne Coming Soon

This was a short teaser but an incredibly shocking announcement. We thought the show was done for good and were speechless to find out we were wrong. We loved the first Castlevania animated series so we are super excited for this new iteration to come out. Castlevania: Nocturne will follow Richter Belmont, who is a direct descendant of Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades from the original series. If you haven’t seen the original series yet make sure to go check that out right away, we loved it.

Conclusion

In conclusion, these trailers and clips are a compilation of Geeked Week 2022. There were a lot of exciting announcements for shows coming to Netflix. The future of Netflix looks promising and we can’t wait to watch all the wonderful releases specially after what felt like a long draught for the platform. We don’t know how we will find the time to watch everything, but are excited to try. We would love hearing from you; let us know what you are most excited for in the comments below. Personally, we can’t wait for Castlevania, Cyberpunk, and The Sandman.
